I have been in LA for seven years. Since the day I arrived here I have been fascinated with the mountains. I can' tell you how many times I rode up the 5 freeway and just couldn't believe that the mountains were right there. Well back in June I decided, to step my game up and hit the mountains. One of the best decisions I've ever made. I grew up riding on the streets so trail riding is very difficult for me. However as with all things I put my mind to, I'm working hard and making my way. Today was my first day of building the wind to climb a mountain. The guys over at OTBMBC.com suggest La Tuna Canyon as a great starter mountain. Well I don't know about that but with little walking tossed in for good measure I did manage to make it to the top. The view was incredible and the air invigorating. Cold as hell though you can't see that in the pics. :)
